CRSSA is dedicated to the preservation of the shooting sports through youth development by way of education and recreation.
We offer many different venues of shooting for juniors throughout the year. Not only are junior shooters allowed to compete in all of the CRSSA shooting programs we offer; NRA High Power Rifle, USPSA practical pistol, and USAS International Rifle and Pistol, but we offer (but are not limited to) the following programs exclusive to youth as well;
CRSSA club juniors compete in several Independent Postal Matches each year. These postal matches are usually air rifle or air pistol competitions fired at the local clubs. The targets are then mailed to the host or sponsoring organization for a small fee. Scores are tallied and awards given. Some of these are The Blue Ridge Postal Match and JROTC Army Postal Match.
The junior organizations we are affiliated with have different rules and requirements from one another. Keep in mind that some are seasonal while other programs run throughout the year. Some programs consider the age category of a “junior shooter” to be from 8-18 years of age. Others consider a junior shooter as having no minimum age up to ”High School” age (up to the summer he/she graduates). Other organizations consider a junior to have no minimum age up to the year he/she turns 20.
